The finals match for PIBAQ’s Small Ball Division between Thirdy Naazhim and Kids Come Along started off with a flurry of threes from Kids Come Along’s Erivan Tan which gave them an early double digit lead that even went up to 21 points early in the second quarter. Before the end of the first half, Thirdy Naazhim’s sniper, Joemari Guerra fired back with a couple of rainbow connections to bring down the deficit to 15.
In the second half, Kids Come Along continued to control the tempo of the game by defending Thirdy Naazhim’s gunners and rotated the ball well for a balanced attack. As the end of the game draws near, Thirdy Naazhim was able to reduce Kids Come Along’s lead to single digit with 5 minutes remaining. Mark Jerwin Mabilangan doused their hopes by draining a trey just before their shot clock expired. Thirdy Naazhim again closed the gap to 8 with a couple of baskets by AJ Ybañez but the ensuing play saw Kids Come Along’s Faizal Mariwa pull up for a jumper as Ybañez fouls him from the back for the and 1 play which he completed as Kids Come Along win with a 78-68 to cap the crown. Darius Baguio was chosen as the Finals MVP with his 17 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals and 3 assists performance.
The Mythical Five awards were given to Arvin Paul Luna of Sentinels, Proceso Loquias of Southern Leyte, Mark Manuel of Thirdy Naazhim, Erivan Tan and Rafael Coronel of Kids Come Along. The MVP of the Conference was awarded to Proceso Loquias of Southern Leyte, the Most Defensive Player Award went to Adrian Punzalan of Thirdy Naazhim and the Best Coach of the Conference was received by Dexter Ian Lastrella of Kids Come Along.
